I have been doing a lot of research and reading around Long COVID and how it affects people. This is a highly complex condition, which shares many similarities with other long term conditions such as ME/CFS.
Long COVID: signs and symptoms that develop during or following an infection of COVID-19, continue for more than 12 weeks and are not explained by an alternative diagnosis.
I have started a physiotherapy support service for people who are affected by Long COVID (have been diagnosed with this and have undergone investigations). This service is targeted towards helping people manage their symptoms, and helping them improve their quality of life living with long COVID. It is run virtually, mainly with discussion and advice/guidance for patients.
It is very clear that there needs to be a multidisciplinary approach to this condition, and therefore this service is only one very small piece of the puzzle.
